Before you step through the gates of the castle, please adhere to the following guidelines to ensure the safety and preservation of our heritage:
- Luggage and Bulky Items: Backpacks, prams, child carriers, and any other large items are not permitted inside the castle. We advise leaving these articles in your car or bus.
- Pets: For the comfort and safety of all, pets are not allowed to accompany their owners inside the castle.
- Photography and Filming: To protect the privacy of our space and image rights, taking photos or videos inside the castle is prohibited without prior permission. Photography and filming permits are available upon application and may be subject to fees. Information regarding photography/film permits can be found here. Note that photography of the castle’s exterior for private use does not require a permit.
- Image and Video Material: We offer image and video material for you to use free of charge on your own website under certain conditions. Click here to download image material or video footage.
- Drone Use: The Bavarian Palace Administration views the operation of drones as a potential risk to the security of Neuschwanstein Castle and its visitors. Under our rights as property owners and in accordance with the German constitution (§ 903 BGB), we prohibit the flying of drones over our property as well as their use on it, considering the involved interests.
- Aerial Photography and Filming: Out of respect for the castle and to preserve its integrity, aerial photography and video recording are also prohibited.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in following these guidelines, which ensure a pleasant and safe experience for all our visitors.
